Schönbrunn Zoo – Vienna – Austria

The Vienna Zoo is the oldest zoo in the world. Founded in 1752 by Emperor Franz von Habsburg-Lothringen, it is first reserved for the privileged few, to finally be open free to the public 1779. The Schönbrunn Zoo is part of the eponymous castle, who wants the Austrian Versailles.

The zoo is also known for being one of the few zoos to welcome pandas, extremely rare and protected species.
